Week of September 28th: A Big Announcement for Craftfolk

Sweater weather is officially here, and three of our knitters showed up to Craft Club last week with sweater projects on their needles. Above is Becky's beautiful Dala Horse Sweater, photographed with some fitting seasonal produce.

Join us for our last Craft Club of the season at the Colfax Farmer's Market this Thursday, October 1st (4-6pm). We'll be taking a short break for the rest of October and resuming in November (psst! be sure to check out the exciting update below on our new space!)

There are still a few spaces left in tomorrow's Community Fire Cider Making Workshop, 5-7pm outdoors on the terrace at Lucchesi Vineyards. I'll leave registration open until midnight tonight if you want to join us. Don't miss your chance to make this seasonal remedy together.

Wishing you a creative week and hope to see you soon,
Gretchen

Craftfolk Has A New Home!

After months of searching, I have wonderful news: Craftfolk has found its new home! We will be moving into a beautiful space in Downtown Colfax in early November, just two blocks from our former location. The new space has its own dedicated entrance, front and side patios, and a big welcoming gathering space. I'm still working out the details with the landlord and will share more in the coming weeks.

I'm excited to announce that we will be hosting holiday gift making workshops this year, continuing our free weekly Craft Club, and restarting the weekly Bluegrass & Old-Time Jam in November! If there is a workshop you've been eager to see offered, let me know and I'll do my best to get it on the schedule.

Thank you to everyone for your support during this transition, and a special thank you to Meredith and Laurel for generously offering their studios for our September and October workshops. I'm thrilled to have a dedicated space to continue building the Craftfolk community with you all!

I've been busy behind the scenes getting things lined up to open our new Craftfolk studio in downtown Colfax! The next month will involve painting, moving, and setting up the new space for us all to enjoy. We're going to be located on Church Street between the Library and Post Office and I'm looking forward to more visibility at this corner location. We'll be restarting the weekly Craft Club and Bluegrass & Oldtime Jam in the new space on November 19th. We hope you will join us for these free...

October is always a busy year for me, as it's fiber festival season! Before starting Craftfolk, I ran a hand-dyed yarn company with my friend Christy (called Quill & Quiver Fiber) and we vended at some of the big fiber shows on the east coast every fall. I'm used to spending this time of year in Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York, and this past weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Lambtown Festival in Dixon, CA for the first time. I was helping my friend Meredith at her booth for...

Happy Equinox week! I enjoy writing these emails every Monday as it gives me a chance to reflect on what is happening and what the season ahead will bring. At Craft Club last week, I turned back to my knitting and am working on the Kinikin Cardigan. This is a super fast project in bulky weight wool and a relief to work on after my last sweater project took 2 years to complete! I also experimented with acrylic markers for the first time, courtesy of Laura who shared her new art supplies with...
