Week of August 31st: Classes and Events at Craftfolk

I've been scoping out temporary venues for our upcoming workshops and am so thrilled to offer a selection of classes this fall in partnership with some trusted friends of Craftfolk.

9/29 Community Fire Cider Workshop

The picturesque landscape above will be our setting for the September 29th Community Fire Cider Making Workshop. We will be hosting this workshop in partnership with Siren Song Fleece Works, located on the grounds of the beautiful Luchessi Vineyard property in Grass Valley. This evening outdoor workshop will be set up on the terrace pictured below with sweeping views 0f the vineyards. 10/28 Handmade Paper and Paper Lantern Workshop

One of our Craft Club regulars and talented local artist, Laurel Mathe, will be hosting a Handmade Paper and Paper Lantern workshop at her studio in Colfax on October 28th. In this workshop, we will learn to create handmade paper using 100% cotton and dried flowers/plants. After creating your paper you'll go on to make the four-sided paper lantern shown below to display your hand-crafted paper. Learn and sign up more here>>​

Stash Dash Extravaganza

Craftfolk and Siren Song Fleece Works are teaming up to present a swap meet for fiber artists on November 14th....the first annual Stash Dash Extravaganza.

Buy, sell, and trade your yarn, fiber arts tools and equipment, and other craft supplies. Then sit and knit (or spin or crochet or ...) with your "new" treasures. Wine and food will be available for purchase.

Free admission for "dashers" - shop until you drop!

RSVP required for "stashers" - for table space to sell/trade.
​$10 per table (4, 6 or 8 ft table and chairs provided - email your table size request to sirensongfleeceworks@gmail.com)

Join us for an informal gathering of makers, neighbors, and friends. Bring your own project and work in the company of community. We offer the space and light snacks to enjoy.

Free! Bring a chair and your own materials/projects.

Thursdays, 6-7:30pm:
Craftfolk Bluegrass & Old-Time Jam (FREE!)

Join us each week for an informal gathering of pickers and singers and share your favorite bluegrass songs and fiddle tunes. Everyone is welcome.

Free! Bring your instrument and a chair.

Location: Colfax Farmers Market, South Main Street, Colfax.

Community Fire Cider Making

Join us for a hands-on, community-centered workshop focused on making fire cider, a traditional herbal tonic made by infusing apple cider vinegar with warming roots, citrus, herbs, and spices.

Location: Siren Song Fleece Works at Luchessi Vineyard, Grass Valley.

Wednesday, 10/28, 6-8:30pm
Handmade Paper and Paper Lanterns

Learn to make sheets of handmade paper using 100% cotton and dried flowers/plants. After creating your paper you'll go on to make a four-sided paper lantern to show off your new-found skill. All materials are provided, no experience is needed.

Location: Private Studio, Colfax, CA. Location will be sent to registered participants before the class.

Craftfolk Update:

We're on the look-out for a space for Craftfolk where we can host workshops starting this fall. We're looking for a mostly turn-key space with a kitchen, bathroom, large unfurnished room to hold workshops and events, and easy parking. We're open to sharing space with another business or having our own dedicated space. Ideally we'd like to start with a month-to-month lease, but are open to a longer commitment depending on the space. We'd like to stay in or near Colfax to keep the momentum going here.
